    Biography

Alejandra Villafañe Osorio (Zarzal, October 8, 1989 – Bogotá, October 21, 2023) was a Colombian actress, model, and beauty queen, recognized for winning the Miss Earth Colombia 2014 pageant, which earned her the right to represent Colombia at Miss Earth 2014. Alejandra Villafañe was born in Zarzal on October 8, 1989. She began her career in beauty pageants, representing her municipality in the Señorita Valle preliminaries for the National Beauty Contest in 2013, which was won by Tania Valencia. A year later, in 2014, as the representative of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, she won the Miss Earth Colombia pageant, held for the first time in the municipality of Armenia, capital of the Quindío department. By being crowned in this pageant, she earned the right to represent her country at the international Miss Earth competition. She moved to the Philippines in November 2014 to compete with nearly one hundred contestants, seeking to succeed Alyz Henrich, the Venezuelan representative who won the 2013 edition. In the competition, Alejandra Villafañe was selected among the 16 semifinalists but did not advance to the next round. The Miss Earth 2014 title was won by Jamie Herrell, the representative of the Philippines. Afterward, she appeared in several television productions such as No olvidarás mi nombre, La ley del corazón, Enfermeras, and Siempre bruja, among others. She was also the official face of Colombia’s Digital Terrestrial Television advertising campaigns for several years. Alejandra Villafañe passed away in Bogotá on October 21, 2023, at the age of 34, after a battle with cancer.
