    Biography

Mariko Kaga (born December 11 , 1943) is a Japanese actress and TV presenter. Her real name is Masako Kaga. She made her film debut in 1962 with Tears in the Lion's Mane. Her leading role in the film Monday Yuka, in which she co-starred with Akira Nakao and Yoko Yamamoto , is one of her most well-known works. She went on to appear in numerous films and dramas, and became a popular actress thanks to her devilish looks and excellent acting skills. On the other hand, she was labeled as "sassy" because she was always outspoken and assertive, and became known for her sharp character image, which caused a stir with her words and actions. After returning to Japan in June 1965, she appeared in the Shiki Theatre Company 's play Ondine , which was a huge success with full houses every day. It was on this stage that she first discovered the joy of being an actress, and from then on she decided to pursue acting in earnest.
